Melanie is a parent of a 5-yr old boy, Austin, who has cerebral palsy as a result of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Shortly after her son’s birth she began coordinating fundraising initiatives to further research that could improve the quality of life of people with CP. She also serves as a parent representative to the University of Virginia’s Child Development and Rehabilitation Center (CDRC), driving efforts to provide the highest quality services to the children and families served in the University’s new children’s hospital.
Professionally Melanie has worked in the marketing field and for GE for more than a decade, and is a customer success manager at GE Digital where she manages digital transformation initiatives and technology adoption strategies for enterprise food & beverage accounts.
Melanie is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax VA where she majored in International Studies with a concentration in Spanish.
