Dr. Yvonne Wu is a pediatric neurologist, and a professor of neurology and pediatrics at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She is an expert in the epidemiology of cerebral palsy and newborn brain injury. Dr. Wu is on the Editorial Boards of Pediatric Neurology and the Journal of Child Neurology. The goal of her research is to develop new strategies to prevent cerebral palsy. Dr. Wu’s research has been funded by NIH among many others, and focuses on the role of maternal infection and inflammation. She is currently conducting clinical trials to test a new neuroprotective therapy aimed at preventing cerebral palsy in newborn infants suffering from hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy or birth asphyxia.

Dr. Wu earned a bachelor’s degree in psychobiology at Yale University, a medical degree at Harvard Medical School, and a master’s degree in epidemiology from UC Berkeley.
